And he said, “Show me, I pray thee, thy glory.”
Exodus 33:18
Think of Moses, who had a tremendous amount of experience with the Lord. Think of the way the Lord met him in the burning bush and said, “Take the shoes from off thy feet for the ground whereon thou standest is holy ground,” and said, “My name is unspeakable. I Am that I Am, Jehovah.” He revealed His name to Moses, and much else.
This same Moses went to Pharoah ten times with a message from the Lord and saw the Lord send the plagues and deliver His people out of slavery in Egypt. It was after all of this that Moses said to the Lord, “Show me, I pray Thee, Thy glory.”
What was Moses searching for?
In the messages within, Lance considers this fact and expounds more of what truly is the glory of God.

In this book, Lance brings the story of Moses’s intercession in Exodus 33 to life in a way that only Lance can to expound on this heart cry of Moses: “Show me, I pray Thee, Thy glory.” Glory is often described so abstractly, but Lance makes the matter clear, simple, and practical: Glory is the committed presence of God Himself, “that committed intimacy of God where He dwells forever in us.” It is so simple, but you do not walk away from this book thinking that you have a handle on God’s glory. On the contrary, this book awakens and draws out the humble heart cry, “Show me, I pray Thee, Thy glory.” May the Lord use this book to recover the glory of God in us personally and corporately as His people. Oh to be free from the trifling nothings that tend to dominate our thoughts and affections and instead be filled with the glory of God!
